Today I wheeled up for my second COVID-19 vaccine as I got the call

This morning I wheeled up to receive my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Couple of hours on I am starting to feel the after affects of the vaccine but I am determined to carry on as normal.

After receiving the vaccine I felt a little under the weather and have a sore arm but apart from that I’m feeling fine.

These symptoms will only last for the next 48 hours and then I am going to go back to feeling my normal self.

This time I didn’t have to queue for the vaccine as my appointment was at a time when the clinic wasn’t busy.

This made my experience a lot easier than last time because it was difficult going down the one-way system in my wheelchair .

It has been a long 12 weeks waiting for the call to receive my second vaccine and I am now glad that it is done.

I am aware that young people who are now receiving their vaccines will be able to live a normal as possible from now on.

I would like to remind all young people to follow the current guidelines once they have had their second vaccine as you will still be at risk of catching coronavirus.

I am hoping that in the next few months I will be able to get back to doing the things that I love to do.

My message to all young people would be please have the vaccine when you are called forward as you will be helping to limit the spread of this terrible virus.

I am now going to use the next couple of days to look after myself as the vaccine does it’s job.

Please remember to take a face covering to your appointment and your vaccination card as this will need to be completed once you have received your jab.
