In recent weeks I have been involved in leading a number of podcasts with young people from across Herefordshire.
In this podcast series we have focused on issues such as mental health, gender and discrimination, sexuality, disability And hate crime.
These podcasts have been both moving and powerful because it’s given the young people involved an opportunity to spread positive messages.
I especially enjoyed recording the episode on sexuality because this is something that young people do not always talk about.
It was also very important that the young people involved had the opportunity to talk about mental health because this has been a massive issue during the coronavirus pandemic.
I recognise that podcasts and blogs are an essential way of young people speaking out about their thoughts and opinions.
It would be great to see more young people from across the UK opening up about issues such as mental health if they feel that they can as it could save lives.
I am gutted that my podcast journey is over as I will not be creating any more episodes however I will continue to blog.
I would also like to take this opportunity to urge young people to consider talking about issues that I have mentioned in this blog as you could help somebody who is struggling with these issues.
I think that this is going to be the most powerful blog that I have written to date because of the topics I am discussing.
I have witnessed first-hand the power of podcasts and would recommend anybody looking into doing them because they are good fun to do.
I hope that you found this blog an interesting read as I was quite passionate when writing it as this is the topic close to my heart.
