I have Cerebral Palsy and Hydrocephalus But this does not mean that I am stupid.
In recent years I have been abused on social media and in person because I have a disability.
Just because I have a disability it doesn’t mean that I do not have a brain and it upsets me a lot when I am abused because of this.
I accept that I am going to be a victim of peoples ignorance because people struggle to know how to act around disabled people.
I am fed up of feeling like rubbish because of the abuse that I face time and time again.
In 2016 I made it my mission to visit schools and educate young people about what is and isn’t acceptable to say to the disabled community.
I hope that this work has gone a little bit of the way to help young people consider there words and actions and who they might affect.
I struggle when writing these types of blogs because they are are upsetting to write because I am reflecting on real life experiences.
I am seeing that young people are listening to the messages that I am telling them when I visit schools and this is very important to me.
I am planning to continue this mission for many years to come as I know that it is a very important one.
As always I would like to end my blog by thanking my readers because without you I wouldn’t have in support of the general public.
