Stop The Hate Now

In September 2021 I launched a campaign called stop the hate now Because we have seen hate towards the disabled community rise.

The reason hate towards the disabled community has risen this year is because of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games.

The disabled community were projected into peoples homes by the world’s media as the games got underway.

When this started to happen I knew that I had to act to educate the young people of my hometown here in Herefordshire.

After some thought I came up with the stop the hate now campaign which I believe will go some way to educating our young people about what is and isn’t acceptable to say to the disabled community.

I plan to go into education establishments and deliver assemblies about what is and isn’t acceptable to say to someone who has a disability.

I hope this campaign will help reduce the amount of hate that is shown towards the disabled community here in the United Kingdom.

This campaign will be supported by the young persons network a network that I designed back in 2016 to give all disabled young people aged 11 to 18 an equal voice.

Even if this campaign makes one young person consider what they say and who it might affect then I have achieved what i set out to do

In 2019 I was a victim of hate crime as I travelled home from an evening out this incident made me question my disability and I never want to feel like I did that night ever again.

Since that night I’ve worked incredibly hard to help educate our young people on the affect their words can have on each other.

I hope that you understand why I am so passionate about this new campaign and educating young people about hate crime.
