Today marks the start of the 2022 Winter Paralympic games in Beijing.
I wanted to write a blog to talk about why the disabled community do not like being called super humans when the Paralympics are underway.
Just because we have a disability it doesn’t mean that we are superhuman all it means is that we have to adapt the way that we live our lives.
I would also like to remind the public that we will not be tolerating any abuse that is directed towards us during the seven days of the games.
I am very excited to watch the 2022 Beijing Paralympic games as I believe that we have some realistic medal chances.
I might have cerebral palsy but this does not make me a superhuman and I don’t like being called one because I am normal in my own right.
Please get behind Paralympics GB when the games start today as I know that these athletes have worked so hard in both sport and society to be in Beijing today.
Thank you yet again to all of my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read yet another one of my blog posts.
