Day 6 of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

It’s Wednesday and that only means one thing, it’s day 6 of the commonwealth games in Birmingham.

Today I watched the Athletics and Para Athletics.

Katrina Johnson Thompson (KJT) Continued Her bid for heptathlon gold by taking part in the long jump competition.

KJT retained her lead in the Heptathlon after the long jump, going into the final two events of the competition, the 800 meters and the javelin.

I’m so excited to see the T11/12 100 meters at the Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr, Birmingham.

The T11/12 athletes have visual impairments and this means that they may use a sighted guide.

Some of the athletes in this classification don’t require a guide because of how much they can see.

The guide runner has to cross the line after the athlete has crossed.

There were some cracking heats in this event with the athlete from Nambia winning the first heat with his guide.

The second heat from the T11/12 event was won by England’s Zach Shaw with a time of 11.01 meaning that he qualifies for the final,

As always I would like to thank both my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read my latest blog.
