Day 8 of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

It’s Friday and that only means one thing it’s day eight of the commonwealth games in Birmingham.

Today I’m heading back to Smithfield to watch the quarter finals of the Beach volleyball.

The first quarter final of the day was New Zealand vs Rwanda.

Rwanda took the first set by 21 points to New Zealand’s 18.

Rwanda also took the second set of there quarter final by 21 points to New Zealand’s 19.

The first quarter final was won by Rwanda and that means that they are the first team to progress on to the men’s Beach Volleyball semi finals.

The second quarter of the morning session was contested by Sri Lanka and Australia.

Sri Lanka won the first set of the match by 21 points to Australia’s 16 points.

Australia then won the second set of this quarter final by 21 points to Sri Lanka’s 16 points.

We then headed into a race to 15 points in order to decide the winner of this quarter final between Sri Lanka and Australia.

Australia won the race to 15 points and qualify to the semi finals on the men’s Beach Volleyball competition.
