Our Game, Our community

On Saturday, the 30th of July 2022 England football launched a campaign called our game, our community.

I was lucky enough to feature in this campaign as I am a grassroots award winner for 2021.

England football chose to tell my story as they believe that it is an inspirational one.

When the coronavirus pandemic started in 2021 I created a podcast along with the Herefordshire FA Youth Council to ensure that young people had the opportunity to be heard whilst they were unable to play football.

I gave the young people opportunity to speak out regardless of their background or the minority group they identify as being a part of.

This is our game within our community and I’m proud of the work that I’ve done to ensure that marginalised young people are heard when the going gets tough.

The listen in with the youth council podcast series still has one final episode to release and that episode will focus on hate crime.

Hate crime is something that is becoming more and more common within the disabled community and we have to speak out to ensure that it doesn’t continue to happen on a regular basis.

As always I would like to place on record my thanks to both my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read my latest blog.
