A decade on from carrying the Paralympic flame into Hereford on horseback

The 25th of August marks a decade since I carried the Paralympic flame into Hereford on horseback.

I was 16 at the time and the keen dressage rider.

It was an incredible experience to represent my hometown of Hereford in London to collect part of the Paralympic flame for the London games.

I was also given the opportunity to meet the then prime minister David Cameron which was an incredible experience.

I entered the Queens lawn at the Royal National College for the Blind on horseback to 1000 onlookers.

I am incredibly grateful to everybody who attended the Paralympic flame celebration to welcome our part of the flame into the county.

The horse that I rode into the Paralympic flame celebration was a little naughty when the playback of the speakers made a horrendous noise.

Later this year I will be repeating this honour by carrying the Queens button as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth games baton relay across England.

I would yet again like to place on record my thanks to all of my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read this latest blog post.
