A successful campaign

Last Friday my campaign ended to get more drop curbs on Harrow Road and Plough Lane in Hereford.

Herefordshire Council installed a total of 15 drop curbs on the two roads.

This was as a result of my four-year campaign to highlight the fact that Herefordshire has a lack of drop curbs.

I wrote a total of six letters, Five emails and asked numerous questions at public Council meetings over a four-year period.

Earlier this year officials from Herefordshire Council met with me to understand why I believed that their was lack of drop curbs in the county.

This then led to months of meetings with the Herefordshire Council to ensure that the work that they were going to doing was going to be what the disabled community require in the county.

A few weeks ago I received the news that work on making Harrow Road and Plough Lane accessible for all was going to start on Tuesday, the 30th of August 2022.

As a result of my campaigning Herefordshire Council will now complete a countywide pavement review to ensure that all pavements in Herefordshire comply with the needs of the disabled community.

They have also said that they will be putting money aside each year to ensure that they have the necessary funds to make any changes needed to the counties pavement network as and when required.

I would like to thank Herefordshire Council and Balfour Beatty living places for everything that they have done in making this work happen over the last few weeks.

As always I would like to thank both my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read my latest blog.
