The state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll

Today is the state funeral of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Her Majesty sadly passed away at her Balmoral estate on Thursday, the 8th of September 2022.

The announcement of her death came just hours after Buckingham Palace announced that her doctors were concerned for her health.

This announcement then prompted members of the royal family to rush to her side.

Tens of thousands of people have queued for hours to view the coffin of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II this has given them a unique opportunity to pay their respects to the longest serving monarch in history

World leaders have now assembled in England’s capital to say goodbye to somebody that is regarded all over the world as one of the best monarchs.

When members of the worlds royal family and their leaders arrived in London they paid their respects during the lying in state at Westminster Hall and signed the book of condolence.

The Elizabeth Tower that is located at Westminster Palace will chine a total of 96 times in honour of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II life.

In her reign Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II received over 100 official state visits.

The Queen met all of the American presidents in office during her reign apart from Lyndon B Johnson.

The Welsh and Scottish first ministers Mark Drakeford and Nicola Sturgeon are attending the funeral on behalf of Scotland and Wales along with the prime minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Liz Truss.

David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson were also in attendance as former prime ministers of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

In the buildup to today’s service there has been a number of important events taking place and these have included Her Majesty the Queen lying in state at Westminster Palace.

At 6:30am this morning the laying in state closed to the public so that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II could be prepared for her funeral at Westminster Abbey.

There were 2000 invited guests for the funeral and they started making their way into the abbey at 8 am this morning.

200 members of the congregation for the state funeral I’ve been awarded honours for services to a range of things including voluntary service.

Just before 10 am members of the overseas Royal families and there world leaders began making their way into Westminster Abbey to take their seats ahead of the funeral.

At 10:35 this morning King Charles III, Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex arrived at Westminster Hall ready to walk behind the Queen’s coffin.

Then at 10:44 the Queen left the Palace of Westminster in the first stage for her final send off in front of world leaders, members of the worlds royal family and invited guests.

The state in funeral is set to be the biggest gathering of royalty and world leaders in decades as they pay their respects to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The bagpipes and drums are a big feature of today’s state funeral because Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II loved them and the sound they made.

Sand has been placed on certain parts of the route where the gun carriages could slip as they turn corners whilst pulled by members of the Royal Navy.

King Charles III and the Queen Consort lead members of the royal family into Westminster Abbey as they walked behind Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II coffin.

They were followed by other members of the royal family and they included the Prince and Princess of Wales and there children Prince George and Princess Charlotte of Wales.

The Dean of Westminster Dr David Hoyle opened the service with a very moving sermen.

The funeral was a very emotional occasion with various readings delivered and hymns sung. This included a bible reading by the prime minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the singing of the hymn Lord of my Shepherd.

The hymn my soul there is my country was then sang impeccably by the congregation.

The National anthem was sang before the bagpipes were sounded one final time in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

After the funeral service Her majesty Queen Elizabeth’s coffin was moved to Wellington Arch so that it could be transferred to the state hearse for the next part of her final journey.

Her majesty was then be moved to St George’s chapel, Winsor for a Committal service in front of invited guests and members of the Royal Family.
