This winter is set to be the scariest yet for the disabled community of the United Kingdom.
This is because there is talk of a daily three hour power cut to save energy but this is going to have a detrimental impact on our community across the nation.
The entire disabled community rely on energy and power to either stay warm or power essential medical equipment.
I will be unable to live an independent life if this plan goes ahead because I rely on Aston my wheelchair to get around and live as independently as possible without the support of my loved ones.
There is talk of this power cut being en- forced overnight during the winter as it is seen as the time when most of our nation are asleep.
I rely as do many others on power through the night in order to charge my wheelchair so that it is ready for the following day of adventures.
The move will mean I cannot use Aston the following day through the winter because he will not have sufficient charge for me to do the miles that I need to do during.
I never thought in a million years that I would be writing a blog of this nature but unfortunately because of the times that we are living in I have been forced into doing this to highlight a real issue facing the disabled this winter.
I know that I speak for many of the disabled community and their families as we head into what will be an uncertain time not knowing how we can afford to heat our homes or charge our aides in order to stay alive.
I hope that his Majesty’s government listen to the pleas of the disabled community because what measures they are putting in place ahead of this winter simply do not go far enough.
I have never been scared about issues such as this one but that is about to change as I worry about how I’m going to keep Aston on the road through the winter months.
As always I would like to thank both my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read this latest blog on an issue that is very real for so many.
