The Scottish government will go to court this week to ask some significant questions about the possibility of them holding an independence referendum next year.
The Supreme court will be confronted with two questions and the first of those will be weather the time is right for the court to the answer the question being put to them by the government of Scotland.
The second question that the Supreme Court will be asked by the Scottish government will be around the substance of the first question that they are asking in regards to a referendum.
If the government in Scotland win their case at the Supreme Court it will pave the way for them to hold a independence referendum in October 2023.
However before any independence referendum can take place the first minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon will have to seek permission from the prime minister of the United Kingdom and Ireland Liz Truss.
If the vote goes ahead the first minister of Scotland has suggested that it will take place on the 19th of October.
I believe that if Scotland were to go independent then it would be an unmitigated disaster.
Scotland would sink faster than the Titanic because it would not cope with having to source what needs from the European Union.
Scotland previously held an independence referendum in 2014 and on that occasion the Scottish government lost the vote because people of Scotland did not back that plan.
The 2023 referendum will be different because more young people will be voting this time around meaning they will not have the knowledge or understanding of what being an independent nation from the rest of the UK will mean for them and there future.
If I had a vote in the independence referendum next year then I would vote against the plan as I do not believe that the plan will work in the long run.
This week will be a massive week for the Scottish government in their attempt to seek independence from the rest of the United Kingdom.
I am excited to both see if Scotland get the opportunity to hold an independence referendum and what the result of that referendum will be in late 2023.
As always I would like to thank both my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read this latest blog.
