Whilst I was out and about in my community this afternoon I was abused for just feel myself.
Whilst walking along part of the pavement network a couple walked towards me and one of them decided to say road hog to me.
I have been left feeling upset and angry by this incident because this has happened to me twice in the last two days.
As I mentioned in yesterday‘s blog on this very subject it is hate crime awareness week and I believe that this should not be happening in 2022.
I am fed up of having to write blogs of this nature because I feel that I shouldn’t have to defend myself in this way following abuse.
This week I spoke to year seven students at a local secondary school about what is and isn’t acceptable to say to members of our society.
I now feel but I will have to start educating The older generation of our society who are clearly uneducated about how to speak to the disabled community of the United Kingdom.
If I had to give them one simple message then it would be this please consider how your words and actions make others feel because we do have feelings.
I am not hogging the pavement when walking along because I have as much right as anybody else to be using the pavement network whilst out and about.
I will continue my fight to educate all members of our society on this issue until the day that I die.
