Congratulations to Herefordshire FA‘s Grassroots award winners for this year

At the end of every grassroots football season England football and McDonald’s open the grassroots football awards.

This allows County football associations, Spectators, players, referees and coaches the opportunity to nominate inspirational people within their communities who go above and beyond within grassroots football.

Herefordshire’s Grassroots award winners for 2023 will be revealed before the year is out after being selected by a county football Association panel.

This panel had the very difficult task of selecting winners for nine categories that cover a variety of areas within grassroots football.

The awards that are up for grabs include Match Official of the year, Coach of the year And Rising Star of the year.

I know from being a member of the county FA judging panel in 2021 how difficult this task actually is.

The work that these people do across Herefordshire within grassroots football is outstanding and everyone nominated really does deserve to be celebrated for their work.

As a national award winner at the England football and McDonald’s grassroots awards last year I know how these awards can change the lives of the recipients.

I would like to send a massive congratulations to all of Herefordshire FA’s award winners for this year as I know you have put your heart and soul into the work that you do and you should be proud to have been selected from a number of outstanding nominations.

If I had to give all of our county FA award winners one piece of advice then it would be this: Enjoy your year as a winner as it is an incredible achievement to be known as a county FA hero and award winner.

In 2021 I didn’t really get the opportunity to consider myself as a county FA award winner because I had all the bright lights that go with being an England football and McDonald’s national award winner.

I am proud to handover our county FA Rising Star title to someone that has done incredible work for our youth and disabled football within Herefordshire.

We know that grassroots football and those who are involved in it are the backbone of the professional game.

We saw this when England’s lionesses won the 2022 European football Championships here in England and how the clubs they started their careers with have benefited.

Each and every award winner this year has played a unique part in ensuring the footballing communities within Herefordshire have the opportunity to achieve their very best.

I will continue to be inspired by those who give up their free time at weekends week in and week out in order to ensure that young people have the opportunity to play football and enjoy the beautiful game.

As always I would like to end this blog by taking the opportunity to thank you both my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read this latest blog.
