The truth behind the lies that the NHS told when dismissing me on disability grounds

In this blog I will expose the lies that the NHS told when building there case to dismiss me from the organisation on disability grounds back in 2017.

My managers at the NHS had to build a case outlining why they wanted to dismiss me as an employee of the NHS on medical/disability grounds.

There are number of points within the final case hearing management report that I completely disagree with and see as untrue.

There report clearly states that I am a wheelchair user with the use of only my right hand and the fact they have totally disregarded that later in the management report is quite simply disgusting.

Managers wrote the following in the report ” Where a door is not automatic Cameron must use his good hand to open it”.

They state that I caused damage to internal doors as a result of driving my wheelchair into them because I physically can’t drive my wheelchair through the door with my right hand whilst holding it open with the same hand independently.

They also state that I stopped working at 5:20pm whilst on a late shift, I regard this as untrue because managers chose not to introduce all job tasks to me because of the clinical risk. I would also like to place on record that my colleagues also did the same during my time with the team.

I never once used my disability to justify something that I have did whilst employed as a Team/Data Clerk with the District Nursing Service, this is something I believe that the team lied about in an attempt to discredit myself.

I was also accused of giving a member of staff repetitive strain injury as a result of them having to support me in punching holes in sheets of paper to the required standard. I struggle to punch holes in pieces of paper because I only have one functioning hand as I stated above.

I am very angry that they used the fact I couldn’t make the same number of yellow district nursing folders as the team in a single hour againist me.

They also state that I expected the team to work around me and this is 100% not the case as I was doing my level best in a new work environment.

I was also subjected to conversations that shouldn’t happen within a workplace environment and these made me feel very uncomfortable because of their nature.

I will never forgive my colleagues and managers at the NHS for what I experienced in the office and during my employment with the trust as a result of what I have stated above.

I was only offered the position with Wye Valley NHS Trust because they needed to fill the 3 positions being hired for on the day that I was interviewed.

They have caused me years on pain and undue stress which has resulted in myself receiving a course of counselling this year.

I as mentioned at the start of the first blog exposing the truth it has taken me 6 years to feel ready to share my shocking story with the world.

If you are in or find yourself in a similar situation to one like mine then please call it out so that it doesn’t happen to another disabled employee of the NHS.

I can say that I was 100% discriminated againist by our NHS because of my disabilities.

I would end this blog in the normal way by thanking both my readers and followers for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read my latest blog.
