In last hour or so Nicola Sturgeon has resigned as First Minister of Scotland after holding the role for last 8 years.
She stated in her resignation speech that she had been battling with this decision for a number weeks and it was only attending a close friends funeral yesterday that helped her realise it was 100% the right time for her to go.
The outgoing first minister of Scotland also added that she could go on in the role but would have less energy to do so.
I believe that she has resigned because she has failed to make Scotland an independent nation and performed a u-turn with regards to the transgender recognition act.
If these two things hadn’t taken place in recent times then I believe that the First Minister would be remaining in office.
I don’t believe that her championing independence from the back benches will not much weight on front benches of the Scottish parliament because independence is her dream for the nation.
I also think that she knew it would be virtually impossible to win round Rishi Sunak and the wider Westminster parliament when making her case for Scottish independence.
I never really believed in the leadership of Nicola Sturgeon and what she was attempting to achieve on behalf of the Scottish people.
I hope that we don’t have to spend the next few days, weeks and months picking over the bones of her premiership because that will be boring as S**t to stomach.
Only time will tell in the days, weeks and months ahead who will be her successor and I hope that they are a much better leader than she was.
I know that this is a very short blog but I wanted to share my reaction to this news as soon as it was broken and she spoke, detailing her reasons behind this decision.
As always I would like to place on record my thanks to each and everyone of my readers and followers who consistently take time out of their busy schedules to read my blogs.
