I will travel back to Witton Lane station in Birmingham next Tuesday (19th of December, 2023) to advise official’s from WMT (West Midlands Trains) where best to place signage on the platforms that will indicate where those requiring assisted travel are to wait for help in boarding trains.
As you may remember I met with a group of senior officials from West Midlands Trains (WMT) at the end of last month to share my experiences of using the rail network as wheelchair user on matches-days.
I recommended that there should signage indicating where disabled supporters requiring assistance should wait on the platforms so that we are able board trains post match with as much ease as possible.
I believe that it is vital that both platforms at Witton Lane have the same signage because those requiring assistance could travel in both directions away from Villa Park on match-days.
I also feel that it is important to involve service users in this process because we are the ones who will be using the rail network with the support of assisted travel on match-days.
I have written a number of blogs on this issue since the turn of the year and I have included the links to them below for you to check out.

I will write my eleventh blog about this issue about how my meeting goes next week so there will be no blog released on Monday as there normally would.
I know that this is a very long and boring blog but I felt that it was necessary to share the latest development in my campaign with you, my readers and followers.
