I have absolutely loved shining a light on what it is like living with Cerebral Palsy over the last few weeks because it is nothing to be ashamed of.
I genuinely don’t give a flying s**t (sorry granny I know you don’t like it when we swear) what people think or have to say about me because I am very proud of who I have become.
I will continue to live my life in the best way that I can despite being told in the past that I shouldn’t campaign about causes that I care about and believe in.
A few years ago, well 7 if we are splitting hairs about it I was told by someone who I thought was close me that I cared more about pavements and campaigning than I didn’t about them.
Since they left my life back in 2019 I haven’t looked back and have gone to successfully beat likes of Herefordshire Council and West Midlands Trains, I have also been invited to meet with Government Ministers who were based in the Department for Transport to discuss my campaigns.
The Department for Transport recently nominated me to attend a Royal Garden Party this year and I believe that I wouldn’t have been given this opportunity if the individual was still on the scene.
I have a simple message for all those, especially the individual in question who thinks that is okay to make myself and others feel like total crap for trying to live our best lives.
You are not clever and I am 100% a better person now than I was when you were a part of my life, I hope you get the help that you need to stop making peoples life a living hell it is not fair on us. I no longer wake up in a sea of sadness.
I am getting quite emotional writing this blog because it is about a difficult time in my life where I was treated badly because someone couldn’t accept how I was trying to help those who are less fortunate than us live there best life despite having a disability.
I know that this could be classed as a blog that is quite difficult to read and digest but I wanted to share my experiences of this issue with others in a bid to help them come out the other side.
Have you enjoyed my four part series on Cerebral Palsy and what it is living with the condition. then why not bite the bullet and subscribe to my blog here: https://just-being-cp.co.uk/.
I would like to thank all those who continually take time out of your busy schedules to read my latest blog each week once it has been published.
