The disabled supporters of Celtic, Bayern Munich , Juventus and Bologna to visit Villa Park as Aston Villa take on there clubs in the UEFA Champions League.

I hope that many of the supporters who travel to the matches will use the rail network to get to and of course from the stadium.

If they do I would like to take the opportunity to reassure them that their journey on the regions rail network will be as smooth as it possibly can be, thanks to some signage.

My message to those supporters is the following, there is accessibility signage on both platforms at Witton Lane station which is located just a 5 minute walk away from the stadium.

The accessible waiting bays have proven to be a massive success since they were installed at the station in early 2024.

Aston Villa’s disabled supporters and local residents with accessibility requirements using the rail network have said that they feel confident in the system now that the signage is in place.

Are you are a disabled supporter of Villa or the away team who uses the railway when attending fixtures?, if the answer is yes remember you can book assisted travel in a number of different way’s:

By Phone: 0800 024 8998 or by using Next Generation Text – 18001 0800 024 8998

Online: https://booking.passengerassistance.com.

App: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/passenger-assistance/id1542190496.

Where possible I would recommend that fans with assistance requirements consider getting back to Witton early so that they are safely on the platform prior to the other fans returning.
