This morning I travelled to Chester and visited the zoo.
I was a bit nervous heading to the establishment because I wasn’t sure how accessible it was going to be for me.
However I didn’t need to be nervous at all because it was completely accessible which was great to see.
There were a number of animals that I saw whilst there and they included,
1.Asian Elephants
2. Lions
3, Chimpanzees
4. Penguins
5. Opaki
6. Rhino
7. Snow Leopard
8. Jaguar
9.Orangutan
10. Komado Dragon
11. Lar Gibbon
12. Fruit Bats
13. Persian Onager
14. Capybara
15. South American Tapir
16. Cheetah
17. Flamingos
18. Peafowl
19. Painted Dogs
It’s fair to say that my favourite animals were the Penguins who were closely following by the Painted Dogs and Fruit Bats

Some Fruit Bats are flying around in the above video so I would advise against watching it if it’s not your sort of thing.
Check out my 2 minute video of our visit below.
If you are in a wheelchair and want to find accessible activity to do, I strongly recommend a visit to Chester Zoo.
There is a lot of moving around the site so I advise that your mobility aid is completely charged prior to the visit.
The only part of the visit I found challenging was being in small spaces where there were a lot of other visitors around and those areas were,
A) Penguin enclosure
B) indoor areas
The wooden walkways were also difficult to navigate because of how uneven they were.

I would try to avoid visiting at the weekends where possible because it can get incredibly busy.
