At the beginning of this year I started to think about what I wanted to see happen by Christmas Day, within just a couple of minutes it was decided I wanted accessible waiting spaces and other types of signage to be installed at stations across the network that is managed by West Midlands Trains (WMT).
This would be at stations that either see high volumes of passenger assistance requests going through them or at those that are classed as being unstaffed a lot of the time, as you will know by now a number of stations all over the region have the spaces and other types of signage and they are:
- Worcester Shrub Hill
- Worcester Foregate Street
- Coventry Arena
- The Hawthorns
- Kenilworth
- Witton Lane
- Aston
It is my hope that in 365 days time (Christmas 2025) that I will be able to reveal that three more stations managed by WMT will also have the spaces and of course other types of signage and those stations are:
A) Northampton
B) Telford
C) University
if you are a regular rail passenger across the Midlands and of course beyond who requires assistance to both board and disembark services, “Assisted Travel” can be booked up to 2 hours before departure in a number of different ways and they are:
By Phone: 0800 024 8998 or by using Next Generation Text – 18001 0800 024 8998.
