There is nothing like a day at the races on a cold January afternoon to start 2025

This afternoon I headed to the races at Hereford on what was set to be a freezing January afternoon, the last time I visited the the course for a day at the races was the 29th of November, 2023.

A total of 6 races were listed on the card with the first setting off at 13:15 and the last being just before darkness at 15:58.

54 entries arrived at the course with an array of jockey’s and trainers in tow who included the likes of James Bowen, Charlie Deutsch, Tabitha Worsley and local trainer Venetia Williams, a couple of non runners were also listed at the start of the day in races 2 & 4 and they were Denemethy (horse number 2) in the 2nd race of the afternoon along with Zacony Rebel (horse number 7) in the fourth.

Additional non runners were announced before racing got underway and those were:

Nathaniel Greene who was due to be involved in the first race of the day.

Kamaxos was due to run in race 4 but was also announced as an additional non runner.

Bobbi’s Beauty was a non runner in the fifth race of the afternoon.
