For mobility assistance, please wait here if you are travelling from Worcester Foregate Street & Shrub Hill stations to the Cheltenham Festival

This week (11th to the 14th of March, 2025) will see the Cheltenham Festival take place at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire.

if you are travelling by rail from either Worcester Foregate Street or Shrub Hill stations be sure to look out for the accessible waiting spaces on the platforms at both stations if you require assistance to board services to the 4 day festival.

The rail operator who manage both stations, West Midlands Trains installed the accessible waiting spaces at both stations last year after successful trials of the spaces at Aston and Witton Lane stations near Birmingham earlier in the year.

Both stations will be busier an usual over the next 4 days as racegoers make there way to cheltenham from the area, so I urge those using the stations to be mindful of where they are standing of the platforms at both stations, as those needing assistance to board services to festival will need access to the spaces at all times.

When the stations are busy the disabled community may not be seen by station staff or train crew who are there to ensure that we board trains safely like everyone else.

I know you want to have a good time, but please do the right thing and be respectful of your fellow passengers who are around you.
