Please be mindful of where you stand of the platforms at Selly Oak railway station if you are an Aston Villa supporter and heading to Villa Park

Accessible waiting spaces were recently installed at Selly Oak railway station by West Midlands Trains (WMT).

The spaces are blue and white boxes which feature a white wheelchair logo and the words “ for mobility assistance, please wait here”.

The station is one of a few that you may visit on a matchday that now that these spaces installed.

My message to villa supporters and others using the station is a clear but simple one and is this, please be mindful of where you are standing on the platforms whilst waiting for your train as those needing assistance to board services will need access to the spaces at all times.

Our community can find it very difficult to board trains safely if our access to the spaces is hampered by others standing in the boxes.

Do you travel by rail on a regular basis and need some assistance to board services?, assisted travel can be booked in one of three ways up to 2 hours before travel.
