Dunblane railway station in Scotland has seen signage installed by scot rail indicating where to waiting if you require assistance to board services at the station.
The station is only staffed in the mornings meaning that if you want to travel by rail in the afternoon from station and need some assistance, it will be the train crew assisting you.
I visited the area last summer and did travel by rail so realised how difficult it can be to do so when the station isn’t staffed.
Sometime after returning home from my short holiday I wrote to the team at Scot rail explaining what work I had been doing with West Midlands Trains around this very issue.
I would urge all rail passengers who are using the stations across Scotland that have these types of signs to not obstructed them as those needing assistance to board services from the stations will need to see the signs at all times.
Train crew will also need to see the signs just in case there is anyone waiting for assistance when trying to board trains.
If you travel by rail on a regular basis and require assistance to board or disembark services, assisted travel can be booked up to 2 hours before departure in 1 of 3 ways:
By Phone: 0800 024 8998 or by using Next Generation Text – 18001 0800 024 8998.
