Herefordshire has some beautiful country walks that can be accessed within minutes of leaving home in large parts of the county.
Not to far away from where I live there is a field that can be accessed from either the end of it meaning that ramblers of all ages can head out for a lovely walk on a beautiful sunny day.
The county is also famous for its beef and cider meaning that people from all over the world come to our beautiful county or have tried one of these two famous products.
The Mappa Mundi can also be found in our cathedral and has been resident here for as long as I can remember.
Hit BBC show Escape to the Country visited the area in July 2024 when they helped a couple view a number of properties as they hoped to escape to the countryside.
I was asked by the production team to act as a local resident and describe what I love about this county having grown up here since 1996.
As a wheelchair user parts of the county can be seen as inaccessible to many members of our community, but that doesn’t matter because there are also large parts of the beautiful landscape that we can access all of the time.
I for one love heading to the old bridge in Hereford city Centre and looking out onto the River Wye, as it flows down stream towards Ross on Wye with many birds flying above it.
Our County is a beautiful place to either retire to or start a family, tune in to Escape to the Country at 3 pm this afternoon on BBC One to hear more about why I love my hometown.
