Aston Villa did not make reasonable adjustments for me as a disabled supporter when I asked for match tickets to be refunded when they were first contacted.

Aston Villa’s ticketing team failed to make reasonable adjustments on my behalf as a disabled supporter. Those reading this will know by now that I contacted the clubs ticketing team on October the 15th, 2025 to ask if I could have a refund for the tickets I purchased in early September for Villa’s Europa League clash with BSC Young Boys at the end of November.

As a wheelchair user I purchased a wheelchair bay along with a personal assistant ticket in the Trinity Road stand of the stadium, however due to circumstances beyond my control, I am now unable to attend the match.

I was told that the club are unable to offer refunds on home tickets for the 2025/26 season under their terms and conditions, when I then asked if my tickets could be resold to another wheelchair user who could attend the match they (the ticketing team) then said that this wasn’t possible for European matches.

I was only told about the clubs personal assistant buddy scheme when I approached the clubs President of Business Operations, Francesco Calvo in late October about the issue.

This 100% should have happened during the first contact with the club and not when I contacted the senior management team.

The Equality Act 2010 states that reasonable adjustments should have been made for me as someone with a disability by the club, this was breeched by them when they refused to listen to the fact that I did not have anyone available to support me in attending the match on the dated stated above.

Villa’s buddy scheme for supporters with disabilities is only in the early stages of being created which is important to note, if this was any other part of society the reasonable adjustments would have been cantered for.

How is it fair that they failed to make these adjustments until I called them out at the very highest level, which is not right in 2025.

They breached the Equality Act 2010!!!
