“For mobility assistance, please wait here” except if you are traveling between Worcester Foregate Street & Hereford as storm Claudia hits the region

Storm Claudia has hit the West Midlands in the last few hours, leading to rail services being cancelled in both directions between Worcester Foregate Street and Hereford today (Friday, November the 14th 2025)

Normally those passengers requiring mobility assistance to travel on the rail network from Worcester Foregate Street station would have access to the blue and white boxes which a feature a white wheelchair logo and the words “for mobility assistance, please wait here that be found on the platforms.

However this will not be the case today due to the storm, those reading this will know by now that I started working with the rail operate who manage Foregate Street station in Worcester just under 2 years ago on this project.

18 railway stations have seen waiting spaces and signage installed on the platforms across the Midlands since January 2024, with more to follow.

The stations that have the spaces and signage in the region are: Aston, Witton Lane, Coventry Arena, The Hawthorns, Worcester Shrub Hill, Lye, Kenilworth, Selly Oak, Telford Central, Shenstone, Blake Street, Gravelly Hill, Four Oaks, Chester Road, Erdington, Litchfield City, Wylde Green & Sutton Coldfield.
