As a massive supporter of Aston Villa l have been attending matches at Villa Park for years with my best friend.
However I won’t be protected when it comes to the resale of match tickets under the government’s plans.
Those reading this will know by now that I tried to get a refund on tickets for Villa’s Europa League match with BSC Young Boys that is due to take place next Thursday, November the 27th 2025.
When I made initial contact with the club’s ticket office on October the 15th I was told that it was not possible to have a refund on home tickets for the 2025/26 season under there terms and conditions.
Following this I then asked the club if it would be possible for the tickets to be put up for resale so that another wheelchair user who wanted to attend the match could do so.
Again I was told that this wasn’t possible for Europa League matches. I am disappointed to see that I now won’t have any protection going forward.

More needs to be done to protect disabled sports fans with ticketing issues by both sports clubs and the government so that we are all treated as equals.
We shouldn’t have to fight to be heard by those who have the power to make these types of decisions, it’s 2025 not the 1950’s.
