There is no more ” for mobility, assistance, please wait here” at the railway stations near the homes of Coventry City, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa during 2025.
Since march this year 9 stations managed by West Midlands Railway have seen waiting spaces and signage installed on the platforms.
Blue and white boxes that feature a white wheelchair logo and the words ” for mobility assistance, please wait here” alongside signage mirroring the same messaging positioned directly behind the spaces on the platforms.
Those reading this will know by now that I am looking forward to continuing my work with the teams at West Midlands Railway (WMR) and London Northwestern Railway (LNR) in 2026.
The supporters of all three clubs in the Midlands have had freedom when it comes to travelling by rail to matches if they have disabilities or mobility issues which has been incredible to see.
If you are considering attending matches at The Hawthorns, Villa Park or the Coventry Building Society Arena (CBS Arena) by rail in 2026 and require some assistance to board or disembark services, your assisted travel can be booked up to 2 hours before departure in 1 of 3 ways:

However you do have a legal right to just turn up at a railway station and go without booking any assistance prior to travel.
