Telford Central railway station is ready to welcome snooker fans to the Telford International Centre for the Players Championship and is situated a 10 minute walk or wheel away from the station.
West Midlands Railway (WMR) installed waiting spaces and other types of signage on the platforms in the early part of this year (2025), this followed successful trials of both accessibility tools at other railway stations managed by the operator across the region.
The spaces come in the form of blue and white boxes which feature a white wheelchair logo and the words ” for mobility assistance, please wait here” there is signage positioned directly behind where the spaces are on the platforms, attached to wooden fences, mirroring the same messaging.
