” For mobility assistance, please wait here” at Tile Hill railway station near Coventry after waiting spaces and signage is installed on the platforms by London Northwestern Railway

Accessible waiting spaces and signage have been installed on the platforms at Tile Hill railway station near Coventry by the operator who manage the station, London Northwestern Railway.

Those reading this will know by now that I have been working with the operator in recent years to improve the accessibility of the stations that they manage for those with disabilities and other mobility issues.

The spaces come in the form of blue and white boxes that feature a white wheelchair logo and the words “for mobility assistance, please wait here” with signage mirroring the same messaging near to where the spaces are.

Due to the safety of passengers on the platforms as high speed trains pass through the station, the spaces have been positioned in the same direction of the trains on both platforms.

This is the latest station to have this installation after successes at: Aston, Witton Lane, Coventry Arena, The Hawthorns, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Kenilworth, Lye, Telford Central, Shenstone, Blake Street, Four Oaks, Chester Road, Litchfield City, Wylde Green, Gravelly Hill, Erdington, Sutton Coldfield and Selly Oak

I should point out at this stage that this is the very first station on the London Northwestern Railway network to have these improvements and I hope that there will be many more to come across the network in the future.
