Those supporting the England national football teams with disabilities will be heard if a disability supporters group/association is created

Disabled football supporters who follow England’s national football teams will have a voice if a supporters group / association is created.

I welcome the announcement by Level Playing Field that the creation of this is being explored in further detail to see if it can become a reality.

Those of you reading this will know that most football clubs across England have a disabled supporters association/group within them already.

However, to my knowledge there has not been one of these groups or associations at national level meaning that disabled football supporters following the England national teams haven’t always been heard by those who can make change at the highest level of the English football Association.

Last September following England’s World Cup qualifier with Andorra at Villa Park in Birmingham I had it a challenging experience on arrival back at Witton Station in Birmingham, which you may remember reading about.

However this is not something that I would like to repeat within this post, so if you would like a reminder of what happened that night, please have a read of this post – https://just-being-cp.co.uk/2025/09/06/england-vs-andorra-should-have-an-occasion-to-remember-instead-it-turned-into-a-nightmare/

As a community, we 100% deserve a voice when it comes to giving feedback on what we experience when attending international football matches both here in England and abroad.

Despite their being an official supporters association for the England national teams, I am not sure that they would fully understand the challenges that we experience as a community when following the Three Lions, Lionesses or disability teams across the globe.

Finally, I would like to say that I am proud to follow all of England’s national football teams from home, however if it was a simple experience of attending matches as a wheelchair user then I might consider doing so in the future.
