“For mobility assistance, please wait here” if at Lye railway station.

Lye railway station in Stourbridge now has accessible waiting spaces and signage on the platforms.

The blue and white boxes which feature a white wheelchair logo along with the words “ for mobility assistance, please wait here” can be found on the platforms at the station.

There is also signage mirroring the same messaging positioned either near to where the spaces are located on the platforms or directly behind them.

Most of you reading this will know that I have been working with the accessibility team at West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway for the last few years on a project to ensure that those with mobility issues or disabilities can travel by rail with ease.

My message to those using the railway station in Lye is a simple one and this, please be mindful of where you stand on the platforms whilst waiting for trains at the railway station in Lye because those with disabilities or mobility issues will require access to the waiting spaces on the platforms at all times.

Passengers using other railway stations with the accessibility tools have supported this work and I am sure that those in Lye will be no different.

It is only right that I once again, thank the incredible accessibility team at the rail operator who have in recent weeks , months and years gone above and beyond to ensure that the rail network they are responsible for is accessible to all.

This doesn’t go unnoticed and is as always very much appreciated.
