A railway station in Worcestershire gets accessible waiting spaces and signage on the platforms.
Droitwich spa railway station recently saw the introduction of the blue and white boxes which feature a white wheelchair logo along with the words “ for mobility assistance, please wait here”.
Due to the size of the platforms at the station the spaces have been positioned in the direction that the train is travelling in on the platform heading the direction of Worcester.
There is also signage positioned directly behind the spaces so that they can be seen by station staff , passengers and train crew from either end of the platforms.
Those of you reading this will know that I have been working with the accessibility team at West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway to improve the accessibility of the stations they manage for those with disabilities or mobility issues.
Several stations across the rail network have seen the improvements and they are:
Aston
Witton
