As someone with disability adapted clothing gives me some independence as I enjoy completing a simple everyday task like getting dressed.For years, it has been virtually impossible to find a decent range of adapted clothing in High Street stores or online.

However, that has now changed because Primark sell a range of adapted clothing that allows people like myself to live as independently as we can.The clothing sold by the retailer includes hoodies that are shorter in the back and do not have long arms, meaning I don’t struggle to take it on and off.

There are also magnets at the bottom of the zip meaning that I don’t need to spend 30 to 60 minutes trying to do up the zip.

Those reading this maybe wondering why I am attempting to highlight this issue however for our (the disabled) community things like this 100% give us our independence back, which is vital for confidence and dignity in many cases.

I for one will continue to buy adapted clothing whether that is hoodies or tracksuit bottoms from High Street stores or online as I see this type of clothing as an independence lifeline.

My message to all High Street retailers is a simple one and is this, please look at selling adapted clothing within your stores or online so that the disabled community can complete a simple everyday task independently with your support.
