Lichfield City railway station which is managed by West Midlands Railway recently saw there introduction of waiting spaces on the platforms, this follows an extensive piece of work by the operator to improve the accessibility of the stations they manage for passengers with disabilities or mobility issues.

The blue and white boxes feature a white wheelchair logo and the words for mobility assistance, please wait here along with signage mirroring the same message that is positioned either directly behind where the spaces are located on the platforms or near to them.

Do you travel by rail on a regular basis and require some assistance to board or disembark trains, your assisted travel can be booked up to 2 hours before departure in any of the following ways:

However you do have a right to just turn up at any railway station and travel without booking any assistance prior to departure.
