Hate Crime’s relating to disability and people not wanting to accept those who don’t conform to “ there” normal is on the rise.
In the last few days I have learned this the hard way, which could be seen as difficult to stomach.
However this is not the case for me and I have this message for anyone who believes it is acceptable to subject anyone in our society to any form of abuse, it is completely unacceptable that you think it is okay to say these types of remarks to people.
If you not got anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all.
There is nothing such as “ normal” and never will be, all members of our society are unique in their own way and always will be.
Educating people on what disability is a big part of what I do and stand for because I strongly believe that everyone should be treated equally regardless of Gender, Age, Disability or Race.
Figures relating to incidents of disability hate crimes being reported to the relevant authorities for the last year won’t be released until October.
It will certainly be interesting to see whether there have been any changes to the numbers of people reporting these types of crimes to the police between March 2025 and 2026.
Hate Crime of any form should not and will be acceptable within any forms of our society.
The question that I am going to end on is this, why don’t all members of our Society accept each other for who we are without any prejudice?.
