The last hour or so I have yet again been forced to navigate my way around some pavement parking in Hereford as a wheelchair user.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time in recent months where I have been faced with this very issue whilst out and about on the counties pavement networks.
This is totally unacceptable and shouldn’t still be allowed to happen in the year 2026.
My message to the motorists of our beautiful county and the rest of the United Kingdom is this, please consider where you park and who it might affect as I for one don’t enjoy having to venture into the road in order to navigate around your shocking parking.
To be honest I am fed up of it and will not be tolerating it any longer. It is even got to the point where I am considering buying stickers to put on peoples cars so that they don’t do it again.
Even if it takes you a few seconds longer to travel down the road and find an appropriate parking space just do it as it will ensure that our (the disabled) community are safe whilst out and about minding our own business.
The mindset of motorists has to change today around the issue of pavement parking otherwise it is only going to be a matter of time before someone with a disability or mobility issue gets hurt or even worse killed on the counties road or pavement networks.
Please just think before you park, it is that simple Hereford and always will be!!!!!!!

It is only right that I take the opportunity to thank the motorists in Herefordshire and across the nation who do think before they park and who it might affect, your support with this issue does not go unnoticed and is of course very much appreciated and always will be.
