I had to wait over a month and have a replacement sent out when ordering this season’s Aston Villa away shirt.

In late august this year I purchased Aston Villa’s 2026/27 away shirt from the clubs official online store, thinking that it would arrive just a week or so later. However I was wrong and was forced to wait just over a month for the shirt to arrive and that wasn’t even the original one that I purchased.

After waiting until well over the suggested delivery time frame, I decided to contact the club to see if the shirt had actually been dispatched because I had received an email from the club’s shop to say that it had and it would be arriving by royal mail.

At this point I was told that they didn’t have any medium away shirts in stock and it would be sent out on September the 15th, the date came and went with no shirt arriving.

Once again I contacted the club and asked if the shirt had been dispatched, much to my surprise it had not so I was offered a refund or replacement shirt, still wanting the shirt I opted for a replacement shirt.

A few minutes after asking for a replacement I received the standard email confirming the purchase and tracking information for the latest delivery. Finally a few days later the replacement shirt arrived along with a 10% off voucher on my next purchase.

I don’t think that I will be purchasing any items from the Aston Villa online store again in the future following all the hassle this caused when attempting to buy the club’s latest away shirt.

My message to fellow Villa supporters is this, be prepared for a long wait to receive your order from the villa store following purchase as there is a chance that it will not arrive when it is supposed to.

Currently I am not even spending money on match tickets as a result of there being a lack wheelchair bays for members at Villa Park, due the stadiums redevelopment ahead of the the 2028 men’s European football championships which the stadium and the city of Birmingham is hosting matches during.

Recently I have even gone as far to say that I might not visit Villa Park and support my beloved boys in claret and blue again because of a number of factors.

Here is a reminder of what I said on the subject just a few weeks ago: https://just-being-cp.co.uk/2026/09/24/ticket-prices-matches-being-on-tv-and-not-having-a-personal-assistant-available-to-attend-aston-villa-matches-with-me-were-key-factors-in-my-decision-not-to-visit-villa-park-in-the-future/

It is only right that I take the opportunity to thank the team from the Villa store who acted very quickly to ensure that this matter could finally be resolved after weeks of waiting and uncertainty.

Your support did not go unnoticed and is of course very much appreciated and always will be.
