As a wheelchair user I will be staying indoors over the next 48 hours or so as strong winds and rain are set to batter large parts of the United Kingdom including the West Midlands and Milton Keynes.
A yellow weather warning for strong winds has been issued by the met office for the West Midlands along with places like Oxford, Peterborough, Stoke on Trent and Milton Keynes.
My home town in the Midlands won’t miss out on the weather conditions hence why as someone who with disabilities and uses a wheelchair to navigate everyday life I have taken the easy decision not to venture outside unless it is absolutely necessary for me to do so.
Another storm is set to hit parts of the country tomorrow, Saturday October the 24th 2026, so that of course means that two storms will hit the shores of our beautiful country in not even 72 hours.
I have a simple but clear message for those across the country who have elderly or disabled relatives and neighbours, please check in on any individuals who you may deem as being vulnerable, as they may not be able to access food, water or stay warm during the extreme conditions in which we are set to experience.
If you need to venture outside for any reason in the next couple of days, please stay safe out there when the winds start to become strong in the next few hours or so.

It is only right that I take this opportunity to thank all those who do keep an eye out for there elderly or disabled neighbours and relatives throughout the year, but especially during times when storms and other severe weather events like snow or extreme heat happen.
Your support with this has not gone unnoticed over the years and is of course very much appreciated and will continue to be.
