As someone who uses a wheelchair to navigate life’s daily challenges I need access to more and bigger disabled parking bays in Herefordshire’s council ran car parks.
On the 13th of October 2025 I wrote to the councillor in charge of the counties car parks about this issue, where I said that the biggest parking location in the city centre which currently doesn’t have any disabled parking bays needs them as soon as possible and not in the next 5 or 10 years when it suits.
In response to my concerns the council said via a freedom of information request which I also submitted, that there no plans to make disabled parking spaces in one of the city centre’s biggest car parks, which I will not name within this post.
At the time of write this I had not received any response or acknowledgment to my letter which I sent directly to the cabinet member at the local authority via email.
My message to the cabinet member is a clear one and this, please do the right thing and at least acknowledge that you have received the letter I sent to you via email in the middle of October.
I dont want to have to contact the chief executive officer of the local authority once again in order to get the answer that I deserve, but I will if needs be.
I feel ignored right now if I am being honest!!!!!!!!
